Portfolio: Gaian Tarot
The Gaian Tarot is a new Tarot deck scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2008. The deck's creator, Joanna Powell Colbert, wanted a simple oracle reading so that her web users could have a fun (and perhaps illuminating!) way to become more familiar with her beautiful deck.
Joanna and I collaborated on how the readings would work; I did all the coding; she created the artwork, page design, and interpretations.
The script is written in PHP, and uses 3 different factors to randomly sort the 22 major arcana cards.
Each card has a name, an image, a brief description, and then interpretations for each of the Opportunity, Challenge, and Resolution positions.
This was a fun project to do, and it's always great to hear back from the client how much her users enjoy the readings. These oracle readings are the most popular part of her site!
